Germany
Private trip from Prague: Berlin
Berlin is a city where twentieth-century European history can be walked, from Brandenburg Gate to the remains of the Wall that divided it for almost thirty years. It is also a lively capital of museums, cafés and bold modern architecture. A private trip with your own driver removes the transfers and lets you focus on what interests you most.

What you will see
The classic route takes in Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag with its glass dome and Unter den Linden towards UNESCO-listed Museum Island. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe invites a quiet pause. East Side Gallery and the Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Straße show how the Wall split streets and families, while the TV Tower on Alexanderplatz sums up the city from above.
The story of the place
Berlin was the seat of Prussian kings, capital of imperial Germany, centre of the Nazi regime and, after 1945, a divided Cold War city. The Wall stood from 1961 until November 1989; its fall opened the way to German reunification in 1990. Today Berlin is Germany's capital and one of Europe's most visited cities.
